Bread Winners brings back the weekend brunch…

Posted by dfwdarling on 9/24/2007 12:42:37 PM in Uptown Dallas, Park Cities, Plano, Downtown Dallas, Victory Park, dining out, food & wine

If you haven’t been to a Bread Winners Café & Bakery (3 locations in the DFW Metroplex) for a weekend brunch you are missing out and not only because they feature tasty adult sippers but because the food is so damn good! My fav, the Uptown location (due to the walking proximity from my apt), has been on the corner of McKinney & Hall for over 10 years.

Once you’re seated in the French Quarter New Orleans style patio, you’re immediately served a cornucopia of sweet treats in bite-size portions – such as, but not always including, pieces of muffins, fruit breads and scones. I love a place that serves a pre-course munchy before the main attraction.

Of course I always order the same thing for brunch…you may think this is boring but I always make the other people at the table order something new so I can sample! Brilliant I think. Anyway my all time favorite is the Hamptons casserole – mmm just thinking about it has my mouth watering. The dish features, grilled chicken, asparagus, onion, jack and hollandaise sauce all on top of a heap of “brunch potatoes” and topped off with scrambled eggs (my additional flare?). Paired with their famous Bloody Mary and you have a treat that will tantalize your taste buds. And this is just brunch…

So run don’t walk to this corner café – you’ll thank me for it.
