What, (you ask) will the Trinity River Vision do for me? Well, for starters it will:
- Ensure that Fort Worthites have open space, rec and conservation areas. Ahh yes!
- Create trails and greenways linking to recs, parks and ‘hoods. Heart healthy!
- Provide open space and preserve it. We can’t afford any more extinctions!
- Provide flood protection. Yes, I can cancel my insurance!
Specifically the Trinity River Vision includes proposed facilities such as:
- 60 miles of new hike and bike trails
- 32 trailheads
- 40 direct ‘hood linkages
- 5 canoe launch/landings
And that’s not all! The Trinity River Vision will also contain:
- Equestrian trails for horseback riding
- Water-ski slalom course
- Fishing in numerous areas
- Boat launches for canoes, kayaks and sculls
With a bevy of awards already given to the Trinity River Vision, it is certainly an example of redevelopment at it’s finest. Once the Vision is complete it will be a premier recreational resource and treasured greenbelt corridor for Fort Worth.
