…a haven for architects and historians

Two of the oldest communities (being Fairmount and Ryan Place) in the DFW area are located just south of downtown Fort Worth and offer some of the best scenery in all of Texas. Don't expect to see rolling hills or even bustling nightlife—you’ll be drawn in simply by the historic, carefully restored homes.

Tudors, Victorians, Prairie- and American-style bungalows and cottages line these shady streets, complete with tidy sidewalks and ornamental streetlamps. Both Fairmount and Ryan Place were established in the late 1800s–early 1900s, and experienced a period of disrepair. Yet since the 1970s, each community has built itself up to a status that's even better than the original (just check out the real estate values from the last few years—in Fairmount alone, they've doubled and are still rising).

Coinciding with the historical theme, this neighborhood offers antique shops and Kodak-worthy historic details, as well as cute restaurants and annual events.
