North Dallas is a collection of neighborhoods located inside the I-635 Loop, near Dallas Love Field.

Here, you’ll find communities such as Devonshire, Bluff Views (named for its layered topography and cliffs overlooking Bachman Lake), the independent, golf-course-heavy Far North Dallas and Hamilton Park, named after African-American physician and civic leader Dr. Richard T. Hamilton. Each area has its own personality and characteristics, yet all have a diverse selection of housing and various types of shops including chains, big-box stores and strip malls.

This is among the wealthiest areas in all of DFW, and small communities like Preston Hollow and Bent Tree are worth a drive-through just to witness the curbless streets and mansions with yards that extend for acres upon acres. Just think J.R. Ewing meets suburban wealth, and you’ve got a pretty good idea of what the developments look like.

Two top notch shopping centers are located in North Dallas as well. The Galleria Dallas and Northpark Center have a long history of satisfying the needs of many a Dallas trendsetter. While visiting, you’ll find more than shops and restaurants. Northpark Center hosts modern artwork from renowned artists, so you can get cute and cultured all at once. In the winter, head over to the Galleria for tis’ the season inspired skating (and people watching) at their annual indoor ice rink.

Best of all, these areas are only about 15 minutes from downtown Dallas, offering options and opportunities for all North Dallas residents.
