...gettin' an education

Named after a hero from the Texas Revolution, General Sydney Sherman, the city of Sherman has come a long way from its once Wild West roots of gun slinging, lawlessness and riots.

Perhaps the construction of Austin College (which has affiliations with the Presbyterian Church USA) helped to change their wild ways. The private liberal arts college, also known as “AC”, still stands today as the oldest college or university operating under its original charter in all of Texas!

Sherman brands the easy life with evenings at the symphony and lazy Sundays on the front porch. If you need a bit of adventure head north to Lake Texoma, which is one of the largest reservoirs in Texas! Pack your gear, this lake is renowned for its world-class striped bass fishing, deep water sailing, camping and hiking.

Taking notes on family and the quality of life, Sherman prides itself on being a quiet place to call home.
