Turner House Movies in Oak Lawn

I love a good movie but there are soooo many that I haven’t seen; sooooo many that I don’t have time to see and soooooo many compromises. But last week I saw an ad for Turner House Movies On The Lawn, which just happens to be featuring Dynamic Duos of the 20’s, 30’s & 40’s. So I thought to myself…this would be a great opportunity to branch out – sample something new.

Seriously though, the movie wasn’t the only lure. There were a couple reasons why I decided to make it a date:

1. It’s a free movie
2. It’s outside on a historic lawn
3. It’s in Oak Cliff which is close to my ‘hood
4. I could cuddle with my honey
5. I could bring wine

And a marvelous date it was. We saw Woman of the Year, starring Katharine Hepburn and Spencer Tracy. Obviously I’m not very familiar with their work and I’m not a film critic so I won’t pretend. I certainly didn’t hate it. It focused on family vs. career and was all so very dramatic; definitely created interesting conversation. I’d have to say that I would definitely go again.

For those of you looking for something relaxing and entertaining to do, check it out for yourselves. Key Largo is playing this Friday (10/26) featuring Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall.  Movies start between 7pm and 8pm, rain or shine.
