…it's all about the architecture

Bonnie Brae, Belcaro and Cory Merrill may cover only a small swatch of land, but they're big on charm. It's a "warm and fuzzy" kind of area within urban surroundings, peppered with mostly single-family homes. The architecture is nostalgic with an eclectic mix of old and new styles—and McMansions.

Wander around a bit to nearby Washington Park and you'll find some great things to do, especially for outdoor types—like a rec center, basketball, volleyball and tennis courts, soccer field and plenty of paths. Thirsty or hungry? There's a fine wine shop, familiar watering holes, local eateries and a public library (for hungry minds). Keep on walking and you're bound to find Bonnie Brae Tavern, and the famous Bonnie Brae Ice Cream Parlor for a deliciously sinful dessert.
