Just 20 miles outside of Denver, this area, formerly a settlement for Scandinavian farmers, rises 5,868 feet above sea level and houses approximately 35,000 people. Built on a foundation of family, community and volunteerism, organizations like the 4-H Club are booming, and events like the Daddy Daughter Dance and Mom and Son Night are well-attended. Most popular of all is the Parker Country Festival, which kicks off with a parade and barbecue, and includes rodeos and vendor booths.
