El Segundo

…where business and beauty co-exist

Cattle and sheep once grazed on wheat and barley fields where big business lives today in El Segundo. It’s that kind of contradiction that best describes this city of 16,000.

Winner of an Eddy Award for Most Business Friendly City in Los Angeles County, El Segundo somehow manages to be business- and people-friendly, and do it all well.

Fortune 500s, like Boeing, Raytheon, Sun Microsystems, Chevron, Northrop Grumman, Xerox, NCR and Oracle, as well as the Los Angeles Air Force Base and the Space and Missile Systems Center have facilities here. And in typical El Segundo fashion, Mattel has an HQ here too.

But El Segundo is also a typical SoCal beach community, with the usual gorgeous sunsets and laid-back residents. Its quaint, homey feel earned the city the nickname “Mayberry.” Today’s residents are definitely more urbane, thanks to easy access to downtown, the airport and office parks, as well as the beach.
