...if a tree falls in the forest...

Montebello, meaning “beautiful mountain”, has prime position for easy highway access to its LA neighbor, SoCal’s three major airports and great outdoor retreats.

Rich in ethnic diversity the city is home to a large population of Japanese-Peruvian and Japanese-Hawaiian descendents. This is in part due to their sister city Ashiya, Japan. Also a hub for the trucking and specialty vehicle industry, Montebello has a heavy presence in the manufacturing of engines, wheels, trucks, campers and trailers.

But the real beauty of Montebello is its surrounding region of forest filled mountains and outdoor recreation. The Whittier Narrows Recreation area is a sprawling 1,400-acre park equipped with fishing lakes, picnicking areas, playgrounds, trails, a nature center, an equestrian facility and a multipurpose athletic complex.
