…Kobe, Koontz and cash

If you plan on living in Newport Coast, make sure of two things: that the Lakers are your favorite basketball team, and your personal library is stocked with Dean Koontz novels. This will avoid any bad blood when you step out to grab your morning paper and have to say hello to your neighbors, Kobe Bryant and Dean Koontz.

And not to get too personal, but it wouldn't hurt if your bank account included more than one comma. Newport Coast is one of the priciest neighborhoods in all of Southern California, with the median income for a family hovering around 180k and houses averaging a cool million. If you doubt it, take a look at the community entrance constructed entirely of marble, or the parking lots filled with Porsches and Mercedes sedans.

Outdoor space makes up 75% of Newport Coast. With trails, parks, and world class golf courses such as Pelican Hill spread at your feet, there’s a reason this SoCal gem is called the “California Riviera.” It’s a prestigious and select community that truly deserves the title.
