...avocados and paintbrushes

Each spring Fallbrook hosts the Avocado Festival, branding itself as the avocado capital of the universe. As a matter of fact, the avocado is so huge for the city that it brings in over $26 million in revenue every year. But despite the almighty avocado, it's the people that make Fallbrook.

The city of Fallbrook is home to an eclectic group of artists who continue to groom an ever-growing creative community through sculpting, ceramics and painting. Art education is a high priority for this community with facets such as the Art Studios of Fallbrook, a non-profit endeavor focused on increasing the cultural and educational life within the community.

Residents take advantage of all the outdoor action, whether it’s hiking and climbing at Heller's Bend, riding horses at REINS or bird watching at Los Jilgueros Preserve (a local fave in the bird watching scene). Another local hangout for the residents who wish to enrich their lives is the Old Mission Theatre located in the heart of Fallbrook. This 1940s era theatre house, complete with art deco, is a little diamond in the rough.

A tid-bit here and a tid-bit there, Fallbrook places an emphasis on its community while enjoying the temperate So-Cal climate.
