If you like things a bit more rural than much of San Diego can offer, Otay is where you want to be. The Otay area is considered a “border town,” part of the world’s busiest land border crossing, ushering over 14 million vehicles and 40 million people into the U.S. each year.

For residents of this area, an outlet mall and several duty free shops fulfill the need for retail. A good number of fast restaurants and Mexican cuisine are nearby, Tijuana’s entertainment district is a quick drive from here and miles of open land stretch to the horizon. So put your thumbs in your beltloops and watch the traffic roll by.
