…for Siegfrieds and Roys of the future

Some towns are standard, run-of-the-mill places with freshly-painted welcome signs that could easily be replaced with a generic “Anytown, USA” greeting. You know the kind—pastel, Burton-esque suburbs with identical lawns, shopping malls and gossip circles.

And there are some towns with quirks so unique; they’re identifiable by one specific element. Moorpark is one of those towns, and Moorpark College is why.

It’s the only institution of higher learning in the U.S. where you can earn your degree in Exotic Animal Training and Management. This might not seem like a big deal, but think about it—a part of Moorpark is made up of big-time animal lovers with big hearts, who want to put their heads in a big lion’s mouth. We’re just sayin’…it’s not your run-of-the-mill town.

Old Town Moorpark and historic High Street contain the unique restaurants, cafes and shops of a typical college town. Don’t miss The Cactus Patch for a big old breakfast, or the cheese steak sandwich at The Hub Hoagies ’n More. Amtrak and Metrolink rails are accessible in the center of the city to get you anywhere.

Who knows? There might be a future in whips and sequined lion taming outfits…
