Camarillo…a shopper’s paradise


Located approximately 55 miles northwest of LA on via the Ventura Freeway, Camarillo is a suburban bedroom community with gorgeous weather (that is, if you like 70s-ish degrees and sun) and close proximity to the mountains, the coast and urban areas.

The town is known for the Camarillo Premium Outlets, which offer discounted goodies from brands like Brooks Brothers, Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein, Coach, and dozens more mid- to high-end brands. And though this shopper’s mecca has attracted visitors, revenue and residents on the south side of town, the northern “Old Town” section has, in the past, suffered a bit of neglect—that is, until recently. With a renewed commitment to development, the people of Old Town Camarillo are enjoying new office and housing complexes, apartments for rent and a rejuvenated downtown.

Housing on both the north and south sides of the freeway (which runs through the middle of Camarillo) is varied and affordable, with apartments, single-family homes, and the occasional mobile home dotting the landscape.

Whatever your interest—whether retail- or- habitat-related—there are bargains to be had in Camarillo.
